Our Embassy took part in the commemoration organised by the Academic Karelia Society Association of Traditions (or Akateemisen Karjala-Seuran Perinneyhdistys ry) marking the anniversary of the Armistice of 19 September 1944, which brought the Continuation War to an end.
At the memorial statue on Sibeliuksenkatu, we paid tribute to the foreign volunteers who served in the Finnish Armed Forces during the war and placed a wreath in their memory.
