Between January and August 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, Hungary’s exports to Finland increased by 7% to EUR 270.5 million.
Between January and August 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, our imports originating from Finland increased by 5% to EUR 185.9 million.
Based on data published by Statistics Finland, in the second quarter of 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, Finnish exports to Hungary increased by 7% to EUR 104 million, of which goods exports amounted to EUR 81 million (78% of total exports) and services exports to EUR 23 million (22% of total exports). Compared to the second quarter of last year, goods exports increased by 14%, while services exports decreased by 8%.
According to data from Statistics Finland, in the second quarter of 2024, compared to the same period of last year, Finnish imports from Hungary decreased by 9% to EUR 152 million, of which product imports accounted for EUR 96 million (63% of total imports) and services imports for EUR 56 million (37% of total imports). Compared to the same period of the previous year, goods imports increased by 8%, while services imports decreased by 27%, following growth in the latter over the preceding two years.

The most significant Finnish company in Hungary is Nokia Solutions & Networks Kft. which operates a major research and development, innovation and service centre in Budapest. It is also a strategic partner of the government. Other Finnish companies include: Konecranes Kft., Lindström Kft. (work wear, carpets), UPM Raflatac Papírfeldolgozó Kft. (paper manufacturing), Pöyry Erőterv Zrt. (engineering), Ruukki Hungary Kft. (production of metal parts and hall systems), Halton Kft. (manufacture of non-household refrigerators and air conditioners), Dunafin Gyártó és Szolgáltató Kft. (paper manufacturing), ASA Építőipari Kft. (construction), Multiva Magyarország Kft. (manufacture of agricultural machinery), BPS Consulting Hungary Kft. (computer consultancy), the Hungarian Branch Office of Profile Vehicles Oy (ambulance vehicles) and the Wolt Magyarország Kft. (food delivery services).
