Attention – Highway fee in Hungary
In Hungary you have to pay a fee for using highways ( map: http://toll-charge.hu/files/img/articles/75/Toll%20expressway%20network%20subject%20to%20e-vignette-01.jpg).
You can buy highway sticker/ vignette on-line or at any petrol station before driving onto the highway. Information is here: http://toll-charge.hu/articles/article/road-network
If you miss to pay for the use of the highway you can still pay within one hour after entering the toll-road. In case you don’t pay you will receive a prompt note 2-3 months later. Receiving this note might raise suspicion as that is issued by a UK-based collection company and the bank account used is in a German bank. However, this is the way the fee is collected.
